Dirt Devil 082700 Vision Turbo Canister Vacuum

68 of 69 people found the following review helpful 5.0 out of 5 starsWOW way better than expected !, May 11, 2007 By C. Leach "cybershopper" (Tampa , FL) - See all my reviews(REAL NAME)  I just got this vacuum a few days ago. I was a bit skeptical when I opened the box, its much smaller and lighter than my heavy old eletrolux that had just died before I ordered this one, but it was here and I needed to vacuum the house, so I figured I may as well take it for a test drive. Assembly was a breeze just plug in the hose, snap on the wand and cleaning head. I did the carpet in my living room first, and was impressed with how much power it had. I stopped to read the instructions on how to empty it and tried that too. Very easy just press a button and lift it out, press another button and it opens to empty. I was shocked to see how much it had already picked up ! After that I went ahead and did the whole house. I really like that the variable power control is on the handle and not the canister, the tools and heads are easy to change, and the cord rewinds with the touch of a button. I'm glad I picked this one, its easier to use and picks up even better than my old vacuum. One minor drawback the container that traps the dirt is fairly small and will have to be emptied everytime its used, but its so quick and easy to do , I don't think thats a big deal.

Hoover MultiCyclonic Canister - SH40060

I purchased this vacuum from Target after I went throught two Hoover windtunnels in 3 weeks. My house has taller carpet, shorter carpet, several area rugs, tile, and laminate flooring. On the tile and laminate it works really well and gets all the way up to the baseboards. On the shorter carpet is does a mediocre job. You have to press down very firmly in order to see vacuum marks, and on the taller carpet its terrible. The head does not adjust to get down deeper into the taller carpet which is a huge drawback becasue its doesn't get down in there.I have one large dog, two cats, and 4 small kids. I vacuum my house several times a day, so I need a vacuum that can withstand lots of use. I have found seveal problems with this vacuum.- the cord is too short. I have to unplug and plug elsewhere to do several rooms in my home.- Head is not adjustable- the hose tends to come unplugged from the main unit very easily when your pulling it which means your sucking nothing up.- does not fluff the carpet. On a good note..it does awesome on bare floors, and it really is very quiet. If you have home with longer carpet like shag, don't waste your time.

Eureka Pet Lover Deluxe Bagless Upright Vacuum, 8811AVZ

Picked up a model 8810AVZ Eureka Pet Lover's bag less vac from BigLots! for $80. Never thought I'd find a vacuum that I actually like. First time around got more than 2 full canisters of dust, right after using my older Eureka Boss model.Big difference in suction and ease of use. Easy one button dust canister emptying. HEPA filter is reusable, just rinse it under warm water and let dry (should last for a year or two).Pros: easy change bag less, long cord, fairly lightweight design, great rolling roller wheels, wide track brush, pet "claw" adapter, easy one step upright lock, HEPA filtration.Cons: tubing is a bit short for hose use.

BISSELL Healthy Home Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Bagless, 12 Amp, 16N5

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)I got the Bissell as a second vacuum so I didn't have to lug our heavy Dyson up and down the stairs. To my surprise, I actually like it just about as well as the Dyson! Of course, time will tell if it holds up as well as the Dyson has, but for now, I'm finding it more than satisfactory. The suction is very good but not oh-my-god-I-hope-this-doesn't-swallow-the-kids strong. There are a lot of nice little touches -- for example, the nice long cord and hose, the turbo brush (which does a GREAT job on furniture, I find), and the way you don't have to undo the entire cord just to use the wand. (The latter is one of my particular pet peeves about my Dyson.)I also found that it was easy to remove and empty the dirt cup without making a huge mess, which to me is absolutely ESSENTIAL in a bagless vacuum. I don't want to have to clean up again after I've just vacuumed! The only reason I can't rate this five stars is because not long after I got it, the little pedal that locks the vacuum upright broke off -- I have no idea how -- so the vacuum doesn't stay upright on its own very well now. (Not a biggie, since I keep it in a closet.) This makes me worry a little bit about the build quality and long-term durability.

Hoover Duros Power Nozzle Canister Vacuum, Bagged, S3590

Just recieved the S3590 and was very pleased.. This tracks well and is easy to move about the house. The insulation is done well and noise is sufficently damped. A light on the power head is nice and the suction is great. I shopped vacuums at 3 times the price and was not impressed. Only negative is the accessory holder is awkward and the dusting brush is a little small. Buy this product.

Germ Guardian GGU300 2-in-1 Bagless Upright Canister Vacuum with Nano Silver Technology

We were a little uneasy buying this vacuum because we had never heard of Germ Guardian before. We purchased it at Walmart. I think it is the same vacuum as the blue one on this site, but ours is green. When comparing it with other vacuums such as Bissel and Hoover, it seemed much more durable. It just felt like even the hose was a better quality. It has lived up to what we thought it should. The suction is better than our Bissel was, and the long cord it great. I really like the attachment that has a spin brush. It is great for stairs or any other small item you need to vacuum. I do wish that it had a storage spot for all of the tools. I do like that the bagless canister can open at the top or bottom to empty. That has been made it easy to use. I don't think we have had a vacuum with as much power and suction as the Germ Guardian. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new vacuum.

Dirt Devil 082660 Vision Canister Vacuum

I bought this vacum at Target nearly six months ago. It has a very strong suction, and runs relatively quiet, but it cost a fortune to maintain! The root cause for this maintainence is that Dirt Devil designed this machine to use the Hepa filter as a vacum bag. All the dirt raps itself around the filter until its completely crapped up, and if you use it beyond that stage it will completely shut-down. I call customer service about it, and they recommended that I clean the filter more frequently. Which I now do, but I still have to replace the filter on average once every 2 months or else I'm force to breath all the fine particles that the Hepa is suppose to protect me from. The cost of each filter is an appauling $30 bucks. My car filter doesn't cost more than $7 dollars. At this rate I've already bought the vacum cleaner within my six months of use. Save yourself the hassel. Don't buy it!

Dirt Devil FeatherLite Cyclonic Canister Vacuum, SD40100

My previous vacuum had those motorized brush heads. It was fine, but not having any carpets in the house, I felt I was simply using a machine that had features that I did not used to their full potential. All these features also had a weight that I had to drag around while vacuuming. With this Dirt evil canister model, I had all that I needed: lightweight to quickly pick up dust, dirt and a little bit of dog hair (I have a Lhasa Apso). It's extremly easy to empty as well! Its power cord is fine for me, as I have have read somewhere on the net that some users find of somewhat short. If you have one electric outlet per room, you should be fine. I find it's power to be more than adequate: I was able to pick up some of my dog's food pellets hidden in some corners. I got this item on special at 60$ and I'm more than happy with it! Makes vacuuming much easier, lighter and faster. This model might not be powerful enough if you have a heavy shedding dog... My mom has a Pembroke Welsh Corgi that sheds continually and she has a much more powerful model. All in all, this Dirt Devil model is most likely for people who don't have carpets and little to no pet hair to vacuum. Sound level for me was comparable or a little bit less noisy than my previous model (Pet Jaguar if you do not activate the power brush).

Hoover Windtunnel MultiCyclonic Bagless Canister - SH40055

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)Overall, there is a lot to like in this vacuum cleaner, especially for the price. The pros outweigh the cons, and there are a few features that make it especially enjoyable to use.PROS:THE CORD REEL. I just love vacuums with a cord reel. All the vacuums seemed to have these when I was a kid, and now that most vacuums no longer have one, I find it very annoying to have to wind the cord up myself. I have a Dyson Animal vacuum with a 35' cord, and the way it was designed, you can't just unwind the amount of cord you need and leave the rest wound up; you always have to take the entire 35' of cord off the hooks it is wound on, or you can't use the wand, because the cord holds the wand down. Such a poor design. On this Hoover vacuum, there is a cord reel with an easy-to-reach button on the canister. Like with any cord reel, you have to have the cord fairly straight when you press the button. You can't have a big knot of cord sitting there and expect the cord reel to untangle it for you; it won't. But when you have an aching back and you're tired from housework, you will be delighted to press that button and watch the cord put itself away. So much more convenient than having to rewind the cord by hand. This is an example of a machine doing what it's supposed to--the time-wasting stuff you don't want to do.CORD LENGTH. This vacuum has a 25' cord, which is plenty of cord, and thanks to the cord reel, you can pull out just the…

Dirt Devil 082600 Vision Bagless Canister Vacuum

We've always owned uprights. This time I went searching on the internet for one -- looked at Eureka and Hoover, but settled on this wonderful canister for our house instead. It's got it all for less money: powerful (12 amps), bagless (you can see the dirt getting sucked in), lightwieight, quiet, hepa filter, quality build, variable speed control, retracting cord, works on carpet (powered brush) and hard floors, great price. It looks cool too. We opened it and immediately vacuumed the house and furniture, etc. We pulled up much more animal hair and misc. fluffies than our old powered eurka upright. I was sold right off when I could vacuum under the couch and bed -- without even moving them! It goes where no upright can go and is much lighter. It a very powerful 12 amp unit with lots of attachments right in the base of the unit (not on the wand like some Eureka's). We got lots of tools with it, including an extra hard floor tool. The powered brush head is nice because it has a separate foot button (separate from main power) so you can quickly turn the brush off and on as needed. Great product!!

Dirt Devil Vision Cyclonic Upright Vacuum

I just purchased this TONIGHT and it wouldn't even start. I then waited for a few minutes and replugged it in and then it finally worked.....for about 10 minutes and completly stopped working. I have never had to write a review like this before but this just is absurd. I am taking it back tomorrow! Also, the suction actually is not that great and my previous vacuum was a Bisell and it worked great so I am going back to my tried and true. This is not worth your money, time or loyalty to this product. I am sure other Dirt Devil products are good but this vacuum just sucked but not in the way you want a vacuum cleaner to suck.

BISSELL Lift-Off MultiCyclonic Pet Upright Vacuum with Detachable Canister, Bagless, 89Q9

We bought this vacuum a few months ago and the suction is great for cleaning up after our Lab, but recently when we try and empty the collection bin the "inner cyclone" (yellow part) falls out, or even falls before we take it out and makes it so that we have to use a butter knife to push it up in order to remove the collection bin.It seems that the gap between the inner cyclone top and the taps that hold in place are too big to work correctly. If it were not for this design flaw it would get 4 stars, so I would look at other vacuums in this price range.

Dirt Devil 085805 Ultra Swivel Glide Bagless Vacuum

My brother purchased this vacuum for our household and while it may not be my favorite vacuum cleaner of all time, it definitely has strong points. I have two dogs who shed constantly and the bagless system is a very, very good thing in my house. I vacuum on a daily basis. The Dirt Devil bagless vacuum does let you FEEL the power, like it says! This thing will pick up dog hair from 2 feet away with the hose. Nothing will be left behind, and you only have to go over it once. Let me go into the pros and cons of this vacuum cleaner. The first thing you'll probably notice when you turn the vacuum cleaner on is the location of the power switch. The switch is foot-operated, which can be both a (literal) pain, or sometimes a joy. When you don't feel like bending over or looking for the switch, you'll find that the slightest tap will turn this thing on and off. Just make sure you aren't barefoot while you vacuum, otherwise turning your machine off might be a bit painful. The vacuum tends to get hot after long periods (5 minutes or so) of working, so touching it with bare skin is not a good idea. I don't think the people at Dirt Devil thought that one through too well when they placed the switch down near the motor. I don't really like the location.Speaking of location, the power cord comes out of the machine from the bottom. It might just be me, but when I'm using the vacuum regularly (without the hose), it has a tendancy to drag on the floor and I can't help but run over the cable.…

Dirt Devil 082750 Vision Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner with Power Nozzle

The only negatives I have with this vac are fairly minor. First of all, the cord is way too short. I have to repeatedly relocate the plug as I move thru the house or attach an extension cord which doesn't roll up inside the retraction hole of course. Secondly, the hose is fairly lightweight plastic and gets twisted on itself too easily. It also collapses if twisted or compressed. This doesn't impact how it works, but I just have to be mindful of the hose to make sure I don't get it twisted. The attachment caddy is kind of a nuisance as it attaches to the main tube between power nozzle and hose. This constantly gets bumped on things as I work and the attachments fall off. It would be better if they were somehow inside the body of the cannister or attached to it. Lastly there needs to be one more attachment which is larger for sweeping hard surface floors instead of using the power nozzle all the time. The power nozzle does fine for this with the beater bar turned off, but a larger floor attachment would be better. Now for the good- I LOVE the adjustable suction feature. This is great for cleaning area or throw rugs. Simply dial down the suction until the nozzle no longer sucks the rug up with it and it works great. The dirt cup is easy to clean out and has a good size capacity- would be nice if there was a little brush to clean all the folds of the filter out too, but not really a problem. This machine has good suction strength and leaves the floors and carpets clean, which is…

Dirt Devil Power Reach Multi-Cyclonic Canister - SD40030

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)I used to think of Dirt Devil as sort of a low-end brand, so I was pleasantly surprised by this vacuum cleaner. I haven't owned a canister in a very long time, but I have 2 uprights, one Panasonic and one Sanyo, both with bags. This Dirt Devil is a very nice addition for quick easy cleaning in tight spaces. The canister is light and has a big handle for easy carrying and rolls well on 2 large and 2 small wheels. I also like the big handle for vacuuming, and it's easy to telescope the handle or disconnect it either near the top or bottom. I have carpet, hardwood and tile floors in my house and the Dirt Devil did a fine job on all three. Nice big foot pedals for both the on-off switch and cord retractor, and the dirt container is easy to release and empty. It's not too loud, either. It does take up more storage room than an upright, but that's a shortcoming of most canisters. Really I can't think of anything not to like about this vacuum. I hope it's reliable - if not, I'll come back and update this review!
